Site Clearance & Green Waste

Clearing overgrown ground, scrub and saplings, and taking the green waste away.

An overgrown garden, a plot before building work, a field margin gone to scrub or a boundary full of self-seeded saplings: site clearance is getting the ground back to something you can see and use.

What site clearance covers

Scrub and saplings

Brambles, bramble-choked hedges, self-seeded trees and undergrowth cut back and cleared.

Plots before building work

Clearing vegetation so the ground can be surveyed and worked. Groundworks after that are the kind of job our sister company Laymac takes on.

Green waste

Brash chipped on site where possible, and the arisings taken away.

Before we start

  • We check for nesting birds and other protected wildlife, which can set the timing.
  • We check whether any trees on the site are protected before anything is removed.
  • We agree what stays: specimen trees, hedges and anything you want kept.

Common questions

Problems we are asked about

Questions we get asked about site clearance & green waste

Do you take the waste away?

Yes, the green waste is chipped where possible and taken away, unless you want the chippings or logs left on site.

Should I check who takes my garden waste?

Yes. Anyone who takes waste away from your property as part of their business should be registered as a waste carrier, and you can look them up on the Environment Agency's public register.
